How Much can I borrow?

Unlike the home-buyer rules, there are no set rules in terms of multiples of income for switching. Most remortgages are straight switches of an existing mortgage to a new lender.

If you need additional funds for home improvements, funding is available, and will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. As a guide, the new mortgage (including home improvements) costs should not be more than four times the annual gross income of your household.
